Reflective Essay P3

For project 3 I will continue developing the topic of note taking. My main message is that how note taking is used in various fields, how it helps in our daily life. In specific my audience is going to be for the department of industrial engineering in the manufacturers. What are the things that an engineer is in charge in a manufacturer? They are the ones in charge of planning the process for the successful production of the plant. They are the ones who determine the costs of production. The industrial engineers prepare the flowchart process for each of the different garments they are producing. Once they have the flowchart they can know how the product procedure will begin and end. A flowchart is a very useful tool but to use it they have to know how to take notes of everything that is happening around them, because everything will matter including the plant design. Why will it affect? well because if the plant it is not well designed the process will be slower because it will not have the necessary flow to produce efficiently, since the different departments included in the process will not be in the correct order of the flow, so yes even the plant design is necessary. So all of those things should be taking notes of. Because all of that will matter in the final product.

For my public document i will create a flowchart for department of industrial engineering  of a manufacturer. I will start by defining what are flowcharts. Flowcharts are diagrams that show a process. This steps are usually showed by a series of shapes connected by arrows. Which show the correct sequence of something, and or sometimes shows the steps to answers for problems. For example a flowchart in programming is used to determine the structure of a program,  if you do one thing you can have different ways to get to the answer .They are basically used to analyze, design, document, or manage a process. Each shape inside the flowchart has a meaning. If you for example see a diamond shape means "decision". "Actions" are usually represented by rectangles.  Start and End are represented by circles. Inputs and outputs are represented by parallelograms.  Conditions are represented by hexagons. And of course the arrows which are used to show the flow of the process. Flow charts are used in various fields.

My project will be about how note taking helps the industrial engineering department of manufacturer. My public document will be about the flowchart of the production process a t-shirt. As you notice, to do all of the production flowchart what you need to do first is to determine what steps comes first and what is next and so on. Ok, you can come up with this by taking notes of all the small details that are inside the process of creating this t-shirt. It is very important that you take notes carefully because you are going to be involved also with timing, so your process will depend on how much time do you take to do an specific step so you will need to take notes. Once you take notes on how your process will develop and you take the time you can begin producing big quantities but not before. So that is why I imply in the use of note taking because this is real life stuff , if you mess with the production of something that is includes an expensive process you will be in trouble. So that is basically the job of the engineer to take notes and make sure you are taking the right times and the right sequence of the project to begin with your production. So my message is that as you can see note taking can be involved in any real life situation, in which some of them will enormously depend on your notes. In this flowchart you can see how note taking helped to develop that process. So this engineer took the time and the notes on how efficient were the machinery, the employees and if the materials they are using are the correct ones to develop the process.

I think it is very important to recognize the importance of note taking and how it is involved in our daily life even if we do it without knowing we are doing it. This is part of a process in which you write down the important pieces of information you acquire in whatever it is that you are doing.
