Reflection on my project=)
How does learning really happen?, Learning dosnt only happen in school?.learning has to be real for me. what bi mean about beign real is that i can acually be intrested in it or do something i feel i can relax .One example i think was useless in grade school ,middle school,and high school."TAKS" was so un real to me, i mean itwas something i thought was so boring not intresting . i didnt show me anything about writing or reading. When i have to learn something unreal to me,i do feel overwhelmed and boring because its something that i think in the long run is useless.The reason why i say its usless because i mention the TAKS before i mean this test has been in my education for a long time but has it help in anything no beacuse i mean if it would of helped i would be an expert in taking test. and thats not what happen i mean i took the ACT and didnt meet the minumum requierment just by one point.
The persons that showed me about reading and writing were my parents and other people. The first real thing i can remeber is when i was 5 my dad thought me how to horse back ride i remeber him saying pay attention to the way the heart beat of the horse,it will tell tell you how the horse feel??
maybe for me what learned is because i can actually relate to it.i love to write poetry because its what i feel and understand more clearly,many teachers if they ever get to read this they will disagree with me ,or maybe some will agree with me,because in oreder for people to understand eachother they must go to the next level.like actually get to know eachother.
Inernet to me seems really really real i mean everything rite now is revovling around the inernet .jobs ,school work,social network.. my Favroite Face book=) its all real to me beacuse its people my age people that i can relate and just talk nosense and not get judge. What i learn from the inernet is universal,beacuse i mean you learn how to become social and its showing us how to prepare for the future.What am going to do for my audience to understand my theory is am goin to do a video of piks that have thougt me through life and take piks of my friends that have showed them how to learn outside of school.so i am goin to put a universal song that has to do with my piks and other funn stuff=) .The expirence in my life have taught me how to surivive in this harsh society. I mean alot of teachers have made a big impact in my life because they actually cared for their students they actually try to relate their chilhood with ours. That shows me that the real world can be a big teacher to us and everyone who know and realize that it actually works and its helpfull.
My thing is actually thaught me a lill more about how learning happens??
i mean books for me have knowledge in it,but dosent mean that i actually understand and learn what the book gives i mean most people just dont like reading at all or learning new stuff. i wonder if they even know that learning happens in such simple stuff like talking to new people,your learning how to be social.Even my dad situation that his in jail i learned how to write and read in spanish cause that was the only way i can communicate with him.i mean its a sad situation but i actually learned something not in school.ive learned how to be strong by myself and the help of my mommy=).
the connection between my theory and my thing is that i im actually learning every step i do to make it. i mean im doing like a movie maker or maybe a dvd type thing not sure yet but idea keeps growing every time i add more to my thing. i mean im actually expirencing my theory thats pertty weird but i am ,and thats how i can prove my theory can be related to everyone i mean were like babys in this world cause every step we take is something new that we dont only learn in school. The Real world is like a book were we can try stuff and create and we chosse what to do.. we learn from our mistakes we do,so the second time we might do it again or maybe actually learn from it. Even now that im writing my essay i can agree with y theory and my thing beacuse the connection can be related to.I have nothing else to say beacuse i think i made connection or explanation that learning dosent only happen in school.Hopefully my Thing can prove my theory =).... OH one last thing the music in my video has meaning to me. I can say music plays a big role in my life =)i learn by hearing music ,many people express themselves by writing and relating to it. its just like poetry..

Internet ,cooking, horseback riding,friendship, poetry the conectinons on this are that there thing that are real to me .that i can actually relate to my "real" world.. school to me is not that real because i learn stuff im not that intrested in but eventually what i have learned i will get to use in my "real" world..
My thing that im creating is in my laptop ..im using paint to do my genogram=) pertty wierd how i did it but oh well..my theory is learnig not only in school?? im doing it mainly for me to understand my own of learning and how it happens...

Reflective Essay: Luis Martinez
My essay is for the students that have problems when they are reading, that when they are reading they are not focus on what they are reading, the are not focus in the read, there are many distractions that may affect the reader, for example the music, the TV, the computer, any minumum noise that could be distracts the reader, or if the reader is just thinking about another stuff and he is reading just for read, you have to be focus cause for me is the only way you can learn something.
So I came with a theory, that is going to be my project, if you want to be a good reader you need just two things: no distractions and be focus on what you are reading. I think that with this two things you should not have problem reading at all. Cause the three things are attached: reading, concentrated, and NO distractions. so this way I got the idea that I can express in a architectural design, and this would be my project the flat, I choose this cause I am studying civil engineer, and we have to interprate architectural designs, and to me it´s a good idea. In a typical architectural design, there are six things, three of them are the three axis of a plane, that is to say, the x-axis, the y- axis and the z- axis, this are very attached cause it´s the point of view of different angles, for example in my project in the x-axis I put "reading" this is our theme, on the y-axis I put "You have to be focus" this means when you are reading you have to be concentrated in the read to understand better, and do a comprehension read, and on z-axis I put "No distractons" this, at it´s name says, you do not have to be distracted with any thing, as I said before, the TV, the computer (worse if it is with internet cause you could be distracted with anu thing like social networks, music reproductions and that stuff), you have to be sure that when you are going to read you have to be in a quite place. And with this three axis you complete all the points of view and you get a 3D view that I call "Succesful read" and with this I mean that combining this three things you will do a good read, more compressive and rational to us the students. This is like the base of the architectural desing, the other things are only to explain what this four things wants to say. Like the section of description and observation, that explains what is the purpose of the architectural design, in my case for example in the description section I put the part of focus cause to do a good read you have to be focus, to understand better, and in the section of observations I put the part of no distractions, cause it´s important to be only on the read and nothing else be bothering you. And the final part is only the personal information section, the name, university or company of the architectural design, to who is the flat and that stuff.
So this is my project and I think is good cause helps me and could help another students. I came with this project cause when I was in middleschool and I was studying I take notice that when you are studying alone with no distractions, you will be better on the quiz than if you are studying but at the same time you are listening to music or watching TV. In conclusion this theory works for me and I think it would help other students and I try to show it the best way I can with my particular interest.

Reflective Essay 1: Luis Galvan
How to become a self motivated learner?
My theory is about how to become a self motivated learner and the process sounds like tough but it doesn’t. Learning has to be enjoyable, interesting and it has to catch your attention in order to do better. This theory tries to give every person a single and unique experience of reading and learning. Reading is not awesome for everybody; some people need to be interested in things in order to read. Interests are because our own funds of knowledge that indicates things significant for us. People develop skills through life that help us on the road of learning.
With this theory I want to prove that everybody can learn by themselves if they want to, but the thing is that in order to do this they need catch their attention by something.
To achieve learning, discipline is essential as it allows us to do all things necessary to become a better learner. Without the discipline we would be unable to perform all our tasks in order and on time so the learning would become mediocre. The values we teach our family as responsibility, perseverance, discipline, order and tolerance help us become better learners.
It is very difficult when the subject of something disconcerting that this force by learning to work or school, you understand everything the first time but how to complete the learning is by asking. Questioning is a tool that many not wanting to look bad in front of other people are afraid to do, but tutoring is something we can’t ignore.
Now we get into the dilemma that if only we would learn really what we like we would not have a comprehensive education that will help us in things that are basic and very important. For example if a person who is studying civil engineering just like to learn about construction but does not like to learn about strength of materials but this does not make you a complete professional. So we know that to be a complete engineer you need a motivation that causes us to want to learn things not only because they are necessary if not because they really leave us a valuable education.
The only way to be a self motivated learner is when you want a comprehensive education based on what interests you on what catches your attention and that is important to you, although this includes many things that are not.
Enjoyable means everything for learning and motivation because in order to release our energy of fighting for our dreams and goals. Learning has to be enjoyable in order to get motivation from things that are really significant for us. My theory will work in an easy way because it is propose for people who needs a reason for doing things, and the best reason to do this is by getting inspiration for things they really care about.
In my case, I like to read things that I am interested. Sports news, civil engineer news are two of the things that I spend most of time doing readings and my case is a very well proof of the theory mention above.

Many of us students are faced with standardized timed test that measure and want to determine our intelligence specially in writing and reading categories. Here in Texas, from an early age we are introduced to the TAKS, standardized test. In the future, college applicants are measured with other forms such as the SAT or ACT to prove their skills in reading and writing along with other subjects. Always an essay attached, one never failed to have to sit there trying to come up with a story based on the vague and sometimes limited prompt. Are these good ways to judge someones writing and reading skills? Do timed standardized test measure someones intelligence to its best?-Are standardized test a valid form for measuring how good a writer is, or does thoughtful good writing come from inspiration?
Good writing for me does come from inspiration, when i am asked to write on a topic that does not interest me or does not matter to me; my writing usually reflects that. Without inspiration, a writer lacks the thoughtful and interesting connections that are made from experience into the writing and reading universe.
When I am given a prompt such as : Write about the person who you look up to the most. I am sometimes limited to the writing idea, maybe it’s the time or place; but inspiration may not be there. In the other hand, one could argue that a good writer is able to expand their mind and make the prompt relate to them.
In my project I decided to make it simple and get my point across by simply looking at main points of my idea. I decided to point out important ideas that the audience needs to understand why I believe inspiration is important for a writer.. This brings up a new idea for my project. If good writing comes from inspiration, then a prompt must interest the writer.
I made this project, because for me standardized testing has been a huge part of my writing and reading experiences. From an early age i was introduced to the TAKS through school. When i would receive my scores, sometimes my written part of the test would be low. I would wonder why, if all through out my english class i had made good grades and whenever we where put to write about what we wanted to, my writing was well thought out. It wasn’t until much later that I realized all these prompts where tedious to me, they didn’t inspire me. Most seemed to be so general and boring to me that i had no motivation to write a well paper. Everyone taking these test got the same prompts, nothing was personalized so it must of been tough for many other students as well. Maybe allowing each student to write about what they knew, would of been a much better idea.
This project is mainly targeted to the instructors that make up standardized test prompts. Maybe they can learn from students test scores, they can realize that if a student is given the opportunity to write about what they know and what inspires them, they may just have amazing results in the writing areas. Each students inspiration comes from a different source or experience. For someone who is into games and graphics, a prompt on “ the influence of games into the learning environment” might interest them more than for someone who has never picked up a video game in their life. Another example would be for someone who is a sports fanatic, a prompt such as “ how can a playing a sport be an experience for a good writer and reader”. For some people, good writing is created when someone is frustrated, for others one must be happy and cheerful. This just comes to show that inspiration is very hard to captivate, since we are all different types of learners and mainly influenced by different experiences, which build our own inspirations.

REFLECTIVE ESSAY 1: Norma Torres
Why is it so difficult for me to read school related articles but so easy to read my favorite magazine? This is the question that I used for my project. The message I was trying to evoke was that I think almost every student goes thru the same kind of stuff when they have to read articles in any class. Not only because they are not interested in the topic, but because usually they are very lengthy and another thing for me is that the vocabulary sometimes is really difficult. They use big words that I don’t understand. I wanted to compare the kind of articles magazines have and the ones that are school related. And the first thing that came to my mind when I asked myself that question, was first of all the topic, we all have different things that interest us, some students enjoy reading the articles from their classes, but not in my case, unless it is very interesting, or really catches my eye. I think that a lot of students might relate to the same problem that I have, which is reading. At the beginning I wanted to do a question or something related to music, because when I was younger I played the piano, so it was a big part of my life then, because I don’t play it anymore. And it was kind of difficult because I didn’t know what kind of project I was going to do; I wanted to do something really creative. So that’s why I decided to use something that I still do, which is read my favorite magazines. I started to read those magazines when I was in middle school. My favorite magazines are fashion related, that’s something that I really enjoy reading. Yes, I do like to read books, but they have to be very interesting to me. For my thing I wanted to do something really creative, so I asked myself a question, what can I do that has something related to both school and magazine articles? What I did was I cut pages from a magazine, like the cover and some of my favorite articles that were inside. I also used articles from some of my classes, like one from my economy class and the other from my English class from my last semester. I pasted everything in colored pages and I put stuff that would make it look more like a magazine. I really think that I used my theory really well in my ‘’thing.’’ It was kind of difficult to come up with the question, first of all because I didn’t know what topic to use. I was thinking on doing either something related to music, or sign language. Sign language because I was learning it during my senior year. And I thought that it was super awesome, but then again I’m not really an
expert on it, and I only learned a very few words and the alphabet. But because of my memory I just remember a few things. So I thought that a magazine related question was a perfect fit for me. Not only because I enjoy reading them, but also because I would love to work on my favorite magazine when I grow up, is like my dream. I carry the magazines everywhere with me. I think that for our questions we all used school, writing and reading related questions. So I chose to use something related to reading, not only because everything we do is related to it, but also because I’m still learning and trying to improve my reading skills. We think and talk about writing and reading, because everything we do is involved with them, like driving, or just staring at something. Is like we are reviewing everything and while we are doing it we are reading and thinking in our heads, is like we are writing an essay. I really hope that when people read my question, and they see my ‘Thing’ they get what my point was and why I did it that way. I think that a lot of people relate to me when it comes to reading. Maybe more girls will because they like fashion related magazines like me. I think that if academic articles were more colorful, had pictures the articles will be more appealing and more interesting, but that is just my opinion. I am a visual person, so thats why I find magazines more attractive. With this magazine I'm trying to appeal students visually. Project 1
How does writing impact your personal life?
What I’m doing in my project or my thing is like to demonstrate how writings impacts our personal life? Our feelings and life experiences things that we’ve gone thru changes the way we write. What im trying to do is to show how when you write a paper when u feel depressed or happy it has more umm feelings and is more interesting. Than when u write an sqr or something forced to write, well ofcourse if it doesn’t interest you obviously you’ll just write whatever because u don’t feel what ur writing about. For me to write a good paper it was to be when im feeling very emotional. I love writing poems that is one of my hobbies and I enjoy it a lot. Because from things that we think don’t have a good significance I can make it have an awesome significance. That’s why I write poems, also that way if a felt sad after writing it I feel much better because I expressed myself into paper. That is where I get out something from writing. But when I write and sqr its just like read read read and write write, sort of like a robot. And eventually u don’t get something out of it because u don’t like it or not interested. In others words I don’t connect to sqrs or school readings. Sooo! What im trying to show is bring a print out of a poem ive written and on the side an sqr. That way I can show how much feeling a poem has and has more sense. And an sqr is I really don’t get nothing out of that and its just academic writing what teachers ask and that’s it. And comparing them both you see how you connect to writing from when ur emotional than to writing sqrs. Well like I said my project is mostly targeted to the students to show that writing has a good impact in our lives and also that when your emotional u write better than when you don’t feel like writing. Ofcourse I think that’s been proven. Why is it so hard for me to get an understanding of school readings and not from things that I get connected to? I think that this happens because like I said its something that you are forced to do in order to pass a class or whatsoever, but the point is that there u don’t get to find any connection at all. And obviously its not sumthing that we are not aware of because we all know that eventhough we might read and read maybe we wont get the complete understanding of iit. But then we find it easier and fun when we do sumthing we get instantly connected to for example writing things that you truly like and enjoy doing. And I think its hard to find a reading that is actually interesting and that we can connect to it. Usually for me I get connected to readings that are based on true events, as for me. Also like I said for me to get very connected to something is when I write poems, in there I find myself in a different world I enjoy it to the max, because it is something that relaxes me and lets me express my feelings. For me writing poems is better in the writing process because it's like free writing it doesn't matter what I put in, unless it rhymes. And when I write the academic things it's just a little more hard bcus i have to read and write correctly and include all the information in the reading. And well i dont think in an sqr i can include like poetry, it seems very hard.I think others might have the same way of being that they don’t connect with academic readings but do with readings that are interesting and real events or things that they just right as a hobby. At first while I was thinking about what to write or do I was totally lost. Actually I was in la la la land. Lol. But then I was like maybe I should do sumthing related with my personal life and maybe others may find a way to connect to it, or see what im really talking about and what I want to show in my “thing”. It took me the help of Bonnie! If I wouldn’t have gone to the workshop I would have still been lost because really I didn’t want to show the class. Well I just hope that my classmates get to understand what myy main point of all this really is..

That’s why I write poems, also that way if a felt sad after writing it I feel much better because I expressed myself into paper. That is where I get out something from writing. But when I write and sqr its just like read read read and write write, sort of like a robot. And eventually u don’t get something out of it because u don’t like it or not interested. In others words I don’t connect to sqrs or school readings. Sooo! What im trying to show is bring a print out of a poem ive written and on the side an sqr. That way I can show how much feeling a poem has and has more sense. And an sqr is I really don’t get nothing out of that and its just academic writing what teachers ask and that’s it. And comparing them both you see how you connect to writing from when ur emotional than to writing sqrs. Well like I said my project is mostly targeted to the students to show that writing has a good impact in our lives and also that when your emotional u write better than when you don’t feel like writing. Ofcourse I think that’s been proven. Why is it so hard for me to get an understanding of school readings and not from things that I get connected to? I think that this happens because like I said its something that you are forced to do in order to pass a class or whatsoever, but the point is that there u don’t get to find any connection at all. And obviously its not sumthing that we are not aware of because we all know that eventhough we might read and read maybe we wont get the complete understanding of iit. But then we find it easier and fun when we do sumthing we get instantly connected to for example writing things that you truly like and enjoy doing. And I think its hard to find a reading that is actually interesting and that we can connect to it. Usually for me I get connected to readings that are based on true events, as for me. Also like I said for me to get very connected to something is when I write poems, in there I find myself in a different world I enjoy it to the max, because it is something that relaxes me and lets me express my feelings. For me writing poems is better in the writing process because it's like free writing it doesn't matter what I put in, unless it rhymes. And when I write the academic things it's just a little more hard bcus i have to read and write correctly and include all the information in the reading. And well i dont think in an sqr i can include like poetry, it seems very hard.I think others might have the same way of being that they don’t connect with academic readings but do with readings that are interesting and real events or things that they just right as a hobby. At first while I was thinking about what to write or do I was totally lost. Actually I was in la la la land. Lol. But then I was like maybe I should do sumthing related with my personal life and maybe others may find a way to connect to it, or see what im really talking about and what I want to show in my “thing”. It took me the help of Bonnie! If I wouldn’t have gone to the workshop I would have still been lost because really I didn’t want to show the class. Well I just hope that my classmates get to understand what myy main point of all this really is..

The Circuit dynamics in reading and writing.
When I first started developing my genogram I wasn’t too sure about the conclusions or even the hypothesis of my study.
The purpose of my genogram was to chart in chronological order my journey through the literacy that could show the different developing stages of my learning and composition.
The chart was divided in progressive periods in my life each 2 years long. And running in parallel to my chronologic chart was my parents own chart in the same periods of time.
The whole point of explaining the framework of the study is to help explain the connections and interactions in between the different stages and their influence with one and other the first period showed that in early stages the absorption of technical infrastructure is at its peak in the stages appears the first contact with the alphabet the grammar and the abstract logical discourse that is literature. In the next stage once with a basic framework for reading and writing then the introduction of a new language in this case the English stimulated new and different brain synapsis patterns that once complemented with my own native language generate more complex patterns of thought and wider spectrum for critical and logical thinking. At this point the computer engineering literature was the main focus on my paternal side this influence my own reading approach in to more technical readings not so much exposure to literature itself but once the framework of the foreign language was acquired the next evolution was the introduction of operative system language such as computers or electronic game consoles that required deeper understanding of language the retroactive pattern process shows itself once again while is trough interaction that new skills were develop as well as culture enrichment the beginning of critical and rhetorical thinking by means of need.
The following stages involved more complex text in narrative and poetic content. It was the time when I was first exposed to fully non picture books and was the narrative was sometimes ambiguous and figurative this comes to complement the previous acquirement of technical and declarative knowledge
In this same stage my maternal side was influenced by Latin American postmodern poetry such as Octavio Paz and other South American contemporary’s even when I couldn’t read those text I was exposed to them through listening and that gave me the next stepping stone in my literature learning journey.
This Document it’s in Developing Stage and it’s not supposed to fulfill the project requirements rather than give it its shape and content.

Reflective Essay
My essay is for the students that have problems when they are reading, that when they are reading they are not focus on what they are reading, the are not focus in the read, there are many distractions that may affect the reader, for example the music, the TV, the computer, any minumum noise that could be distracts the reader, or if the reader is just thinking about another stuff and he is reading just for read, so I came with a theory, that is going to be my project, if you want to be a good reader you need just two things: no distractions and be focus on what you are reading. I think that with this two things you should not have problem reading at all. Cause the three things are attached: reading, concentrated, and NO distractions. so this way I got the idea that I can express in a architectural design, and this would be my project the flat, I choose this cause I am studying civil engineer, and we have to interprate architectural designs, and to me it´s a good idea. In a typical architectural design, there are six things, three of them are the three axis of a plane, that is to say, the x-axis, the y- axis and the z- axis, this are very attached cause it´s the point of view of different angles, for example in my project in the x-axis I put "reading" this is our theme, on the y-axis I put "You have to be focus" this means when you are reading you have to be concentrated in the read to understand better, and do a comprehension read, and on z-axis I put "No distractons" this, at it´s name says, you do not have to be distracted with any thing, as I said before, the TV, the computer (worse if it is with internet cause you could be distracted with anu thing like social networks, music reproductions and that stuff), you have to be sure that when you are going to read you have to be in a quite place. And with this three axis you complete all the points of view and you get a 3D view that I call "Succesful read" and with this I mean that combining this three things you will do a good read, more compressive and rational to us the students. This is like the base of the architectural desing, the other things are only to explain what this four things wants to say. Like the section of description and observation, that explains what is the purpose of the architectural design, in my case for example in the description section I put the part of focus cause to do a good read you have to be focus, to understand better, and in the section of observations I put the part of no distractions, cause it´s important to be only on the read and nothing else be bothering you. And the final part is only the personal information section, the name, university or company of the architectural design, to who is the flat and that stuff. So this is my project and I think is good cause helps me and could help another students.

Reflective essay
Why is it so difficult for me to read school related articles but so easy to read my favorite magazine? This is the question that I used for my project. The message I was trying to evoke was that I think almost every student goes thru the same kind of stuff when they have to read articles in any class. Not only because they are not interested in the topic, but because usually they are very lengthy and another thing for me is that the vocabulary sometimes is really difficult. They use big words that I don’t understand. I wanted to compare the kind of articles magazines have and the ones that are school related. And the first thing that came to my mind when I asked myself that question, was first of all the topic, we all have different things that interest us, some students enjoy reading the articles from their classes, but not in my case, unless it is very interesting, or really catches my eye. I think that a lot of students might relate to the same problem that I have, which is reading. At the beginning I wanted to do a question or something related to music, because when I was younger I played the piano, so it was a big part of my life then, because I don’t play it anymore. And it was kind of difficult because I didn’t know what kind of project I was going to do; I wanted to do something really creative. So that’s why I decided to use something that I still do, which is read my favorite magazines. I started to read those magazines when I was in middle school. My favorite magazines are fashion related, that’s something that I really enjoy reading. Yes, I do like to read books, but they have to be very interesting to me. For my thing I wanted to do something really creative, so I asked myself a question, what can I do that has something related to both school and magazine articles? What I did was I cut pages from a magazine, like the cover and some of my favorite articles that were inside. I also used articles from some of my classes, like one from my economy class and the other from my English class from my last semester. I pasted everything in colored pages and I put stuff that would make it look more like a magazine. I really think that I used my theory really well in my ‘’thing.’’ It was kind of difficult to come up with the question, first of all because I didn’t know what topic to use. I was thinking on doing either something related to music, or sign language. Sign language because I was learning it during my senior year. And I thought that it was super awesome, but then again I’m not really an
expert on it, and I only learned a very few words and the alphabet. But because of my memory I just remember a few things. So I thought
that a magazine related question was a perfect fit for me. Not only because I enjoy reading them, but also because I would love to work on
my favorite magazine when I grow up, is like my dream. I carry the magazines everywhere with me. I think that for our questions we all used
school, writing and reading related questions. So I chose to use something related to reading, not only because everything we do is related
to it, but also because I’m still learning and trying to improve my reading skills. We think and talk about writing and reading, because
everything we do is involved with them, like driving, or just staring at something. Is like we are reviewing everything and while we are doing it
we are reading and thinking in our heads, is like we are writing an essay. I really hope that when people read my question, and they see my
