Homework Reminder

Everyone took off before I could get a word in edgewise about the homework! That doesnt mean that there isn't any! I'd never deprive you guys of it! ;D

So here's what due!

Tonight Wednesday April 6, at midnight, Posted as a NEW POST to the class blog: Your Revised Audeince Analysis! Take the feedback you got in class today and revise your AA accordingly! Then take that revision and post it up on the blog. I'll be checking them for revision, if nothing has changed you won't recieve the Workshop grade! IF you have yet to post up your AA, do it now!

Due Tomorrow at midght, posted to the class blog in a NEW POST: Your document analysis(200 word min)! Today in class we looked at several diffrent Public Documents and determined how they functioned and why they functioned the way they did. Now you need to think about the document you will be creating and how it gnerally functions. IF you want to create a magazine, pick up a magazine and break down it down, analysuyze it for your Document Analysis. It doesnt have to be the magazine YOU are creating, but any magazine! I want you to get a feel for what your particular chosen document form does and how it does it. (If your doing a recipe, pick up a cook book, if your doing a radio ad, listen to a radio ad!, if your doing a pop-up book for 5 year olds go pick up a pop-up book for 5 year olds! Get it?):

As a class we came up with the following questions to guide us through our document analysis:

  • who is it for?Who isn't it for?
  • what is it about?
  • break it down/Describe its parts/Describe what it looks like
  • get others opinions?
  • how does it function? how do its parts function? how doesn't it function?
  • what is its intended purpose? what purposes doesn't it serve?
  • how does it get that purpose across? how doesn't it get its message across ?
Use these questions help guide you through your own document analysis!

Begin Tonight and Bring into Class on FRIDAY: START CREATING YOUR PUBLIC DOCUMENT! Draft it, make an attempt! Try to create something, even if it's just a drawing of a possibility on paper! Bring whatever you have in on Friday! We will share and workshop! If you don't bring something in, you'll have nothing to workshop! Instead you will sit and write for me another analysis in class while we share! :O
