Starting on Project Three!!
If you have yet to read up on Project three I suggest you go find it under our writing projects and do so! For P3 we'll be taking our finding from P2 and creating public documents! What's a public document? It's a text, a thing, that is designed and created for a particular audeince. Your public document will also depend on the nature of what you want to do to that audience, what you want them to "get" when they see your document.
Now that means that we're going to have pay close attention to what our message is, who are audeince is and what kind of document we are creating. To get you thinking about that I want you to write up your P3 proposals and your audeince analysis! :)
As a class we all came up with the kinds of information the proposal needs to cover:
The message.
Your audience.
You public document
How you will develop your idea through that document for that audience.
Your audience.
You public document
How you will develop your idea through that document for that audience.
REmember your proposal is a text you are writing to me, while it's a plan of sorts part of it's job is to convince me of your plan as well. A list wont cut it!
You'll also have to complete your Audience Analysis by Tuesday Midnight! So what gos into this Audience analysis? How do you get the info? In your audience analysis you need to discuss who your audience is, specific age, sex, etc. What they do day to day, and what they value. What is important to them, why do they do what they do, how does it define them as that particular audience. Your Audience Analaysis must be a minimum of 200 words. You can absolutely use the internet to explore your audience. You can also interview people and find out first hand what they care about and why and what they do and why. But don't forget to cite these sources! If you used wiki or some other website include the web address at the end of your Audience Analysis!
don't just go looking for descriptions of your audience though! (which wiki will do!) Instead consider going to places your audeince works or to spaces your audience values! For example, if I choose Science bloggers as my audience I might go look at actual blogs run by these very writers adn try to idetify what is important to them myself rather than simply wiki-ing "Science bloggers" and trying to make sense of someone else's description and analysis.
Due tonight, Monday by midnight, posted to the class blog: 100 word min Project 3 Proposal.
Due Tuesday night, posted to class blog: 200-250 word Audience Analysis.
