Question- Are standardized test a valid for for measuring how good a writer is, or does thoughtful good writing come from
inspiration?
-good writing for me does come from inspiration, when i am asked to write on a topic that does not interst me or does not
matter to me my writing usually reflects that. Without inspiration, a writer lacks the thoughtful and interesting connections
that are made from experience into the writing and reading universe.
Example: Writing prompt example- Write about the person who you look up to the most.
- If given the above prompt a good writer can draw inspiration from the things they like, read, and personal experiences
and pull them into the writing assignment. A writer has to have a mind that is wiling to be expanded and
be able to think rhetorically while still keeping content and writing skills high. A good writer is almost like a good wine,
theolder it is the better content.
As far as translating my theory into a creative project, I will base my idea on an A+ inspiration paper and a poorly executed
timed test paper.
I like your question and your theory just blew me away! Writing can't happen without inspiration! That fact that you zoned in on Taks tests is particualraly interesting! Those can be some of the most mundane and intersting papers to write, more so if they leave a writer little to no inspiration to draw from.
ReplyDeleteI like that you note that a writer with inspiration can easily tackle a taks prompt, but what if the writer lacks inspiration or if the prompt itself doesn't inspire the writer. My question to you is (just to complicate things a little more ;) ) where does inspirationc ome from? you mention it in their, but I want to know if you're equating the two. I'm also curious as to whether you think a good writer can always find inspiration? If so how? :O
I also really like the project you've come up with! how are you going to show case the two so we can easily id which is which? :O?
Awesome Job Leo! Reallt blowing me away man!

I think a really well and educated weighed can also pull inspiration from different writing prompts. Inspiration will be able to come from their experiences.

I'm literally going to show a paper with an a and one with a c. Each one will have a paragraph/critique explaining why they got their grade.
