Reflective essay

During this project I'm trying to explain my theory. This theory it's mainly about meaning and covers two main topics which are comprehension and interpretation. What i'm trying to explain is that every time we read an article, a reading or a book we get a different meaning and this depends on lots of factors. For example age, maturity, the situation that we're living or passing through that moment, the interest we put on the reading and the reason that we are reading it. For me, this happen every single time. I've read the same books for a few times and every single time I understand something different. When I was a little kid I needed to read the LIttle Prince for a project and when I read it it was kind of cute and I founded interesting because all the pictures but I couldn't really understand the principal idea of the book. Later, when I was in high school my professor ask me to pick a book for a project so i chose the Little Prince and this time, due to the experience that I've because of all of the years of school and all the books that I've read, I could understand the real meaning of the book.

In my project, I put two images, the first one it's a girl representing me when I was in elementary school and the second it's a young woman that represents me in this moment. I also put a little text explaining the difference between comprehension and interpretation. With this I want to explain that when we were younger we used to focus more on comprehension and now we get the chance to interpretate the things that we read.

I also made a box named "The Little Prince" and inside the box I put some images of the Little Prince, some were in color and in different sizes and the others were in black and white and the last one had nothing. I used this little box to help me explain my theory like if the box was the book and the images the meaning that we get from the reading. For example every time you open a book (in this case the box) you will get a different meaning (in this case the images), or sometimes you won't get nothing at all, thats why I put the white paper and this mainly occurs because you are only reading because you have to do it and you are not interested in reading it.

My project it's for college and high school students because now we get the opportunity to give the reading our own meaning, depending not only in the real meaning of the book or the thing we are reading but in what we understand.
