Project 4: Alan Guajardo

On this class we have been learning with different ways, and some of us learn with different strategies, this could be that different strategies have different characteristics that can help us in different ways, but I think that we learn every day and that we use all the strategies on different times.
Now on this days a lot of us have different perspectives of learning but learning oxides even if you use your understanding to help somebody else, for example using feedback bout of the students learn, the one is giving it and the one is receiving it, the one is receiving have the more advantage to learn from the feedback, because that way he can make some changes and start using some other, for example revising, and in the other hand the one that is giving the feedback is able to learn from the articles that he read by trying to not use the bad strategies that some of them use. Depending on some strategies students can develop more useful strategies that can be used to make a better work, for example something that can be used after you work has been revised and you resaved feedback is to revise your work, for example the feedback is supposed to give you a better point of view of your work, after that you should be able to work on your article or essay and make some changes and rewrite it if is necessary, sometimes it can take a lot of work to make a good paper, for example some students revise their works several times, the first revision can be made to identify the errors, that could be grammatical errors and some other errors could be also errors that do not identify a clear idea, on the second revision they can make all the changes and use all the correct worlds that fit better on the article. Some of the other strategies that we learned on my English class were to learn with Rhetorical Reading strategies, this strategy is based on the meaning that we give to our readings, and this strategy can be used and also can be very helpful, this strategy is useful in different ways, for example this strategy is used when reading and article and the reader can automatically use it, when the student is reading the article have an engaging structure that make the student connect with the article and play a major role in the article, this strategies are very useful, but also there are some of them that are not that useful and important.
On my semester on this class I have been learning a lot of things, that is why we create a lot of questions that are very important in our learning, this questions are also teaching us good lessons that we can learn in different ways, and some of the ways that I learning was that when we ask questions there are answers and that crate more question, something that is good because we can learn different answer just asking one question. At the beginning of the semester I entered this class asking myself many questions, some of them were; what are the strategies for learning? What are the best strategies of learning? And when can we use the strategies? These questions were answered quickly, but these questions leaded to more questions, and that was good because some of the answers were very helpful without thinking of it. On this class I also learned from the other from our conversation, in fact with the conversations we can create some strategies, for example pear response, this strategy is used with the thinking that other students have about your work, also conversation is part of one of my favorite strategies, team work, with the conversation I developed a strategy that can be used in group, and this is very helpful because students can learn from their classmates in case they cannot learn from their teachers for any reason.
On this class we learned also about other students that have different classes and different points of views, on this class we did some investigations and surveys that helped us to learn how other students learn, and what I discovered is that students from different classes and on different grades use some of the strategies that we use and some of them develop their own strategies that are very similar to those that we use, what it tells me is that these strategies are some of the best strategies and also the more effectives
Taking this class have helped me a lot on my improvement of my learning, especially on reading and writing, because now I use this strategies to help myself on the majority of my activities that I do daily, so this way I can gain more experience and also have a better understanding of these strategies.

  1. Alan, you do a really good job at explaining what it is you learned. I like how you focus on the strategies that you used and learned. It is personal and a good approach to starting this essay, although I think you have to remember that it is a reflective essay over the whole course which includes more than the strategies. You can add more on the projects and difficulties you had with them, or what you liked about them. You can also add a bit more about the feedback and how that affected your writing as well as the SQRs and the articles. You often say you learned "many things", I think this is where you can pull out more writing and be more specific on what you learned from each project and SQR we did.
I really liked how you go back and remember the questions you had at the beginning of the class like "what are the strategies for learning? What are the best strategies of learning? And when can we use the strategies?" It would be really interesting if you can answer them now that you have gone through this experience, maybe answering the questions can lead you to a greater conclusion which I am sure you are able to do.
Overall you have a great start, maybe editing some out and bringing in more experiences on all the projects we did can lead to a better REFLECTIVE essay.
